Without you, there would not be a sale.  We have taken something that all parents need and turned it into something that benefits everyone involved, kids clothing and accessories at great prices.  You buy what you need for a huge discount from department store prices or you can sell your own children's stuff for more money than you would get anywhere else around.  We will mail you a check for 70% of the final sale price of your items minus a $7.50 registration fee within two weeks of the sale.  You can look under the "Volunteer" link to find ways to make additional money at our sale.

As a consignor, you get the benefit of shopping the regular sale and the ½ price sale a full hour before the general public.  In order to participate in the presale, you must have at least 20 items. You may bring one person with you to each presale.  You must pick up your pass when you bring your items to the drop off.  We recommend bringing a basket or stroller to the sale in order to keep up with your items.

Preparing Your Items

What You'll Need:

A self addressed stamped envelope to leave on drop off day

Hangers-These will stay with the items

Index cards - White/Colored

1 inch or longer safety pins - no straight pins

String/Ribbon/Zip ties

Zippered freezer bags

Clear packing tape

All items must be clean, all parts should be present, clothing should be pressed, all buttons, zippers, and snaps closed.  The better your items look, the better they sell.  If an item has small and large pieces (doll houses, block tables, etc.), place small items into a zippered freezer storage bag and tape it to the larger item with clear packing tape.  Freezer bags are stronger and less likely to be ripped open and clear packing tape is much stronger than Scotch tape while still being transparent.

Books, videos in original cases, DVDs in original cases or anything with several small pieces must be placed in a zippered freezer bag and taped closed.

Puzzles or other boxed items must be taped shut so that pieces are not lost during the sale.  Please be sure to count all pieces before you seal the boxes.

Small clothing items like onesies, infant shirts, etc. must be put in zippered freezer bags and sealed along the opening with clear packing tape.  We suggest that you group three or four of these items together.  Socks and underwear must be new and in the original packages.

All shirts, pants, dresses, pajamas, blankets, etc. should be placed on hangers with the hook facing left to make a question mark.  Pants should be pinned to the hanger by the waist or you may use pants hangers with built in clips.  Sets with two or more pieces should be pinned together so that all pieces can be seen.  Place a shirt on the hanger, and then pin the pants by the waist to the back of the shirt.  You may also pin together two or more shirts.  If you are unsure of the best way to prepare a specific item, e-mail us and we will be glad to help.

Shoes may be attached to one another with string, ribbon, zip ties, or large safety pins.  If they are unable to be attached by any of these methods, you may put them into a large zippered freezer bag and seal with clear packing tape.  Shoes tend to sell better if they are out in the open for inspection by the customers.  No shoeboxes will be allowed.

Car seats must have owner's manual attached in a sealed zippered freezer bag.  You may then tape the bag to the car seat with clear packing tape.  Remember that all car seats must not be older than 5 years, have never been in any type of car accident, and have been check for safety recalls at 1-800-434-9393 or www.carseat.org or www.buckleup.org.

Furniture sells better when it is assembled, but if this is not possible due to time or space, consider taping a photo of the item assembled to the piece.

If an item requires batteries, they must be installed and working at the sale.

Here are a few numbers for parts, etc.:

Pricing & Tagging Your Items

When pricing your items, you should price to sell.  Ask yourself how much you would be willing to pay for the item.  We recommend 25% to 50% of the original price depending on brand name and quality of the item.  You can do comparison shopping at EBay or in local consignment shops.  We have a minimum price of $1.00 and items should be priced in $.50 increments. ($1.00, $1.50, $2.00, $2.50, etc.)   You may group like items together to increase the overall value.

The first thing that you must decide before beginning this process is, am I going to donate this item at the end of the sale if it doesn't sell?  In order to make the sorting process go faster at the end of the sale we have designated this by tag color.  If you want to keep your items, use white index cards.  If you would like to donate these items to a local charity of our choice, use a colored index card.  Which color you use is not important as long as it is colored.

Using the side without lines with the short end up, your tag should be labeled as follows:

  • Leave one inch of blank space at the top of the card for attaching to your item

  • Consignor number in the upper left

  • NO in upper right if you DON'T want your item to be discounted during the ½ price sale or blank if you do (On larger items you may specify a certain dollar amount instead of ½ off) Items will not be sold for more than ½ off.

  • Size (use numbers, not small/medium/large on all clothes except maternity) in the bottom left corner

  • Price in the bottom right corner

  • A detailed description in the middle including brand name and item description

Please be very neat so that you may get full credit for your item.  If you make a mistake on a tag, it is very important that you make a new tag.  No crossing out or using white out.  This is for your protection.  You may want to bring a few blank cards with you when your items are being checked in for last minute emergencies.

When tagging items on hangers, place the tag on the right side of the hanger with the hook facing left to make a question mark.  Tags should be attached by safety pin within the top inch of the index card in a horizontal line.  This speeds up the check out processes.  The pin should go through the fabric and the card twice.  You may use a hole punch if you like.  For delicate fabrics you may attach the tag to the label in the neck area.   You will not be receiving your hangers back.  You may purchase hangers at the dollar store, Wal-Mart, Target, or K-Mart, or your dry cleaner may have some that you can get for little or no money.

When tagging items in zippered freezer bags, make sure that bags are sealed with clear packing tape and then attach your tag with more clear packing tape making sure to only tape the top inch of the card to the item.  Most items in bags sell better if there is more than one item per bag.

When tagging toys, games, furniture and larger items, securely attach the tag with clear packing tape.  If you are selling a set of larger items together, on your tag write 1 of 3 or however many you have.  Do this with each piece.  Make sure to label each piece with your vendor number, but on each additional piece do not list a price.

When tagging shoes, ties shoestrings together or use ribbon, string, large safety pins, or zip ties to attach together thru the eyeholes.  Attach tag by large safety pin thru a shoelace, eyehole, buckle, etc.  If your shoes cannot be attached together by any of these methods, place shoes together in a large zippered freezer bag and seal with clear packing tape.  Place you tag on the outside of the bag with clear packing tape.

When you have completed tagging your items, they must be sorted before arriving at the sale location during your drop off.  Sort clothing by sex and again by size.  It is helpful to rubber band your hangers with the same sex and size items together.  You will be responsible for hanging these in their appropriate areas and this will save you a lot of time because there will be many people in the building during our drop off hours.

On drop off day, it may be helpful to come inside without your items to make sure that there is not a long line.  We don't want you to stand around holding that heavy load if it's not your turn to check in.  Don't forget to bring your self addressed stamped envelope during your drop off.  If you do for get your envelope, you may purchase one on drop off day for $1.00
